Malnad Gidda Ghee is considered to be very rare because of its low availability of milk from Malnad Gidda cows. One of rarer ghees to procure, Malnad Gidda is a distinct Indian breed found in the western ghats whose diet consists mainly of green grass and various herbs, and are considered to be the most disease resistant cows. The ghee churned from cow’s milk offers a host of benefits for everyone in the family from babies to elderly.

Ghee made from the milk of Malnad Gidda cows is created using a traditional process of churning curds. The butter is not refrigerated, but rather stored in freshwater, and ghee is created as needed by boiling the butter in a low flame to get a gritty texture. Malnad Gidda cows graze on numerous flora in the western ghats. Because the breed is thought to be the most illness resistant, its milk is said to have medicinal benefits.
The ghee is in its purest form, with nothing added or taken away, and it does not contain Vanaspati or Turmeric for colouring.
