To wine or not to wine!
We are entering the ‘to wine’ season!
New Year celebrations are marked with a whole lot of parties, social gatherings, family get-togethers and a whole lot of partying again and again. These are celebrations we follow to bring in the new year with a whole lot of gusto and joy, and to leave the problems and the worries of the old behind us.
The funny part is most of us ring in these celebrations with an aftermath of either nausea, headaches or complete inability to do anything.
Who is to be held in contempt of the court proceedings?
ALCOHOL! Indeed!
We can’t deny the significance of alcohol this season owing to not just the celebrations and festivities lying ahead of us, but also the weather. We find the comforting embrace of a cold evening with a glass of white wine or blended whiskey to warm us up inside.
The problem lies in the morning post the celebrations where you wake up with a splitting headache and an ability to try to remember things that happened the night before.
The main cause of a hangover is the effect of ethanol – the alcohol in your drinks.
It’s a toxic chemical that works in the body as a diuretic, which means it makes you pee more and you can become dehydrated as a result.
